The Heart of Normandy

This blog was never published when I wrote it last week in Honfleur at the lunch table. I must have lost wifi at the restaurant where Jim, Grif and I lunched before heading to Mont SaintMichel- Here it is, better late than never!

At last a wi-fi connection! We’ve been in the depths of Normandy with sun, cows, sheep, cider and cheese but no wifi connection. Today Jim, Grif and I said goodbye Cindy and headed for Honfleiur. We’re sitting at the old harbor and waiting for our first mussels and fries. Next? maybe east to Entretat or west to Mont Saint Michel if there’s time.

The mill where we’re staying is rustic dream. From the garden we watch trout swim down the shallow stream and watch all sorts of birds navigate the trees. We’ve painted up and down the Risle River before making our artists’ pilgrimage to Giverny. Exiting Monet’s house, Grif and I were interviews for French television! The best part, though, was having the garden all to ourselves from 6:30 til eight o’clock. Only a gardner or two closing up shop besides us. Pictures of Giverny to come after we get to Paris Saturday. For now, here’s the rest of the trip, to date.
